Separatist 35-Ton Light Concept Art

     Another sketch from my sketchbook, this one is a bigger brother to the Separatists' 25-ton Huntsman. Identical weapons loadout (at least in the default factory configuration), but with greater armor and jumpjets; it pays for this in being a fair bit slower (though still quick and nimble). Just like the Huntsman, it is armed with a pair of Binary Heavy Lances, one in each arm; the segmented arm design allows it great precision in converging the points of fire from these weapons, and it is capable of doing significant damage with a well-placed shot. It is kept well-cooled by a respectable load of heat sinks, with the two large heat exchangers/air intakes in the side torsos contributing largely to this.
     The two main disadvantages of the chassis are it's wide profile and low-mounted weapons, especially compared to it's lighter cousin. The Huntsman's weapons are actually *above* the cockpit, which enables it to peek over obstacles with minimal exposure. The Predator has to peek from a side, which exposes much more of the mech to fire, especially considering it's profile. It should be said, though, that the mech *can* also hold them up horizontally, which gets them at least above the hip actuators, which does help. The other issue with the wide profile is that if it gets engaged out in the open, it is rather easy to hit. The CT has a bad habit of making non-energy weapon hits glance due to it's conical profile, something it shares with the Imperial Vanguard. The wide side torsos tend to act as shot traps though, catching a lot of fire and even getting nailed with ricochets from the CT.
